The Band.
Okay, rather than go on and on about things, talking about myself in the third person, etc, etc, the deal goes like this: I, James Shields, write the songs (lyrics and chord progressions/melody) while the band in the studio or while jamming fleshes things to give the recordings their big sound.
And, something I should probably mention - there is no "band" right now, unless you’d call a varying collection of friends who have been working on music over the years a "band". In that case, please read the History section of this site - I’ll update that soon.
My latest recordings feature Michael Jerome on drums and also Mike Graff playing lead guitar on a couple of songs. Currently, I’ve been playing bass on some of the songs myself but I suspect my good friend and monster bass player Mikel Combs will likely push me aside and take over those duties. The current plan is to get these new songs along with the others that were recorded but not released over the last 6 years, put-out there for all to hear, then maybe we’ll play a few shows on each coast and see how it goes, who knows.
